Another romantic movie I'd say..very sweet and definitely romantic! yahaha...camne lah boleh terjebak dalam movie macam ni. hehe And i bought this DVD not knowing the main actress dia ialah NORAH JONES...i was suprised to watch her acting!! and....with my JUDE LAW!! (damn she's sooo lucky!) at first i thought she was a featured actress...yang akan menyanyi ke ape ke dalam cerita ni...coz all i know Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz were in the movie as well. but apparently, appearance diorang yang sangatlaah sekejap...tapi hebat lah. Rachel Weisz sangat cantik! she is so gORGeOUSs!! love her love her!! :)
if you're gonna watch this movie, i must warned you the story is a bit slow lah. interesting, tapi slow! The movie was directed by Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai. Though Norah said, "Its not an American film, nor a Chinese film. It's a Wong Kar Wai film!", for me it's more on Chinese typo film. i used to watch a lot of Hong Kong movies before, so all i can see is that the story is predictable. Bukan cakap tak best tau. hehe cuma the very best part was in the last scene of the movie. so you have to wait until at the very end. kat situ macam2 rama2 dah bertebangan di udara. hahaha
here i posted some interview made by Norah Jones..quite interesting! :)
Q: What were your first thoughts on being asked to play the lead in My Blueberry Nights?
Norah Jones: Amazement. It came out of nowhere. The director, Wong Kar Wai, approached my agent and asked for a meeting. I went along and saw this odd-looking man, very tall, in dark glasses. He said: “Well, Norah – do you want to act?” I said: “I don’t know whether I can, but I can try my best.”
Q: Did you feel flattered to be asked by such a well-known director?
Norah Jones: I’d never heard of him – or his great film, In The Mood For Love. But I watched the film and thought it was amazing. Suddenly, the prospect of working with him seemed very appealing.
Q: How confident were you of your acting talents?
Norah Jones: I had no confidence at all. I felt tense, awkward and very stiff. I found it hard to relax. Fortunately, the film was being made in sequence. My character has to feel such tensions and awkwardness in the first few scenes, so that’s what saved me.
Q: How long did you spend kissing Jude Law for that one scene?
Norah Jones: Three days. It was filmed from every angle, in every way. He had to kiss the cream from my face, so it meant that for every take a lot more cream was smeared on. He must have eaten about a gallon of the stuff. But it was not hard work for me. I just lay there, thinking: “I’m being kissed by Jude Law – how bad can this be?”
Q: How did you shoot the famous last scene in the film, the kiss?
Norah Jones: The photographer shot the kiss from every angle, but we all knew the (take) where (co-star) Jude Law kissed me from the top was the coolest. For Jude, he actually had fun with it. He thought the last scene was very artistic, and he acted like (he was) dancing. I'm not sure if it was hard for him to kiss me that way; it wasn't an easy job for me. I hurt my neck posing like that!
Q: Was your boyfriend, Lee Alexander, jealous?
Norah Jones: No – he just viewed it as a good acting part. We’re also going our separate ways. We will always be good friends, but we have worked together, lived together and been on the road together. We have known each other for seven and a half years, which is a quarter of my life. I think we both agree it has run its course.
Q: How did you come to write the title track for My Blueberry Nights?
Norah Jones: We were doing a night shoot on the film in New York and I came home at 6am. I wasn’t tired, so went in to my piano room, which faces east, and watched the sun come up. It was such a beautiful sight, the song wrote itself.
Q: Would you do another film?
Norah Jones: If it involved kissing men like Jude Law? You bet! [Laughs]
haha me too!!! Jude Law sangat cool dalam cerita ni. apa ayat dia cakap semua almost betul lah. plus Norah Jones pun not that bad jugak. this is her 1st film, and she got to kiss Jude Law, and being surrounded with Natalie and Rachel Weisz...damn she's sooo lucky!! and rasa dia interesting sangat sekarang. coz i really not into jazz music...but she made me want to hear some :)
